genuine.

our youth group has been doing this thing every year where you chose a word to live by all year. 

my youth pastor’s word is amplify. 

his wife’s is truth. 

these words are all wonderful but my word... my word is genuine. 

to be genuine is to be kind to all. 

being genuine is loving those who are awfully hard to love. 

and loving those who are easy to love. 

being genuine isn’t being real and true only to those you want to. 

it’s being kind and treating everyone the same. 

kindness goes a long way. 

no one is better than others. 

you’re not better than others. 

i’m not better than anyone else. 

so why should we treat anyone like they are?

when i say love people, i don’t mean tossing that word “love” around. 

or faking it. 

it’s a true love. 

it comes from the one who loves like no other. 

the one who wants you even after all the things you’ve done. 

the one who is genuine in every way. 

that’s how i want to live. 

i want to be genuine. 

i want to be caring. 

i want to be real with people. 

i want to love people with everything i have. 

that’s what i want.
